背景 | Background
建筑设计的过程图纸与模型是建筑研究中的关键组成部分。然而，近代以来这些资料鲜有被完好地保存，即便被保存下来也往往因为各种动荡而散失流离。这给后世的研究带来了极大的困难。这一状况在改革开放以后有了很大改观，但是一种严谨对待和珍惜档案资料的建筑文化仍有待提倡和加强。
Drawings and models produced throughout the various phases of architectural design are indispensable resources for architectural research. However, since the advent of modernity, Chinese architects have seldom succeeded in preserving these materials in a comprehensive manner. Even when efforts were made, such materials were often lost, scattered, or damaged due to unfavorable circumstances, posing significant challenges to later scholarly inquiry. Although the situation has improved markedly since the Reform and Opening-Up Period, there remains an urgent need to cultivate an architectural culture that values rigorous preservation and thoughtful appreciation of archival materials.

直向建筑有关建筑、树、自然、环境的展览正在亚洲建筑档案中心进行，本次展览展出了大量过程图纸和模型。值此机会，本次研讨将会重点关注其建成项目的过程图纸和模型，以及它们投射未来的本质属性。研讨邀请研究者在参访建成现场的基础上，与项目的过程资料进行比照阅读，分主题探讨建筑设计中枝蔓丛生的过程，以及一些关键性的决断时刻，并以此与建筑师展开深度对话。研讨将涵盖图纸/模型作为媒介、场地、构图与几何、空间类型、光、自然物、建造、工艺等主题。
An exhibition featuring two projects by Vector Architects—centered on the themes of architecture, trees, nature, and the environment—is currently on display at the Asian Architectural Archive Center, Southeast University. Showcasing an extensive collection of project drawings and models generated during the design process, the exhibition offers a rare glimpse into the material traces of architectural thought. In conjunction with this exhibition, the seminar focuses specifically on these PROJECT drawings and models, which are, by nature, PROJECTIVE. Through a thematic study of these archival materials—enriched by site visits to the completed buildings—participants will investigate the intricate and layered processes of architectural design, with particular attention to the key moments of decision-making that shaped the final outcomes, allowing for an in-depth dialogue between scholars and architects. Topics explored include Drawings/Models as Media, Site and Courtyard, Composition and Geometry, Type and Setting, Light and Nature, Construction and Craftsmanship.
